Bernstine to Host Free Shredding Event in Forward Township

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence) will host a free shredding event on Saturday, Oct. 17, to help people safely dispose of documents containing personal information and take an important step toward protecting themselves from identity theft and fraud.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Forward Township Municipal Building, 207 Ash Stop Road, Evans City. Paper documents containing information such as Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account numbers can be brought to the event for secure shredding at no cost. Those attending also will have the opportunity to watch their documents being shredded.

“Protecting your personal information is an important part of protecting yourself from identity theft and fraud,” said Bernstine. “This free event gives people a convenient way to clear out paperwork they no longer need and make sure their private information is securely destroyed rather than left vulnerable.”
