Bernstine to Host ‘Protect Our Kids’ Seminar Feb. 9

February 4, 2026

BUTLER COUNTY - Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence) will host a Protect Our Kids Seminar on Monday, Feb. 9, from 5:30-7 p.m. The event will take place at the Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company located at 130 Browns Hill Road in Valencia.

The seminar will focus on internet safety and ways parents and caregivers can help protect children from online predators. As children spend more time online, Bernstine said it is important for families to understand the risks and learn how to spot potential dangers.

“Protecting kids has always been a top priority,” said Bernstine. “Predators are constantly adapting to new technology, and parents deserve practical information to help keep their children safe. This seminar is aimed at making sure our children are protected online.”

The seminar reflects Bernstine’s ongoing work in the Legislature to strengthen laws that protect children. He has introduced legislation that would close a loophole in Pennsylvania law allowing registered sex offenders to gain parental rights through surrogacy arrangements. The proposal would prohibit registered sex offenders from becoming legal parents through surrogacy and would require background checks and child abuse clearances for all intended parents before a pre-birth parentage order is issued.

The Protect Our Kids Seminar is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Bernstine’s office at 724-847-5297.
