Bernstine Announces Funding Awarded for Critical Infrastructure Improvements

February 24, 2025

BUTLER COUNTY – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence) today announced Forward Township, in collaboration with Adams Township, has been awarded $125,000 in state funding through the Multimodal Transportation Fund to widen Marburger Road, a key roadway that runs through both townships in Butler County. This project aims to improve traffic flow, safety and accessibility for local residents and travelers.

“This funding will have a significant impact on the residents and travelers of Forward and Adams townships,” said Bernstine. “By widening Marburger Road, we’re not just improving traffic flow, but enhancing safety and accessibility for everyone who uses this vital route. This project is a great example of how strategic investments in our infrastructure can make our communities stronger, safer and more connected.”

The funding comes from the Multimodal Transportation Fund under the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which is responsible for administering the state’s economic development programs. The fund provides grants to support projects that improve transportation safety, promote economic development, and enhance the quality of life for residents across Pennsylvania.
